Today we visited the Johnstown Flood museum. Learned more about the flood. I cannot even imagine!
Saw this crazy conveyor/chute I don't know what across from the museum. Found out it is the inclined plane. Built to convey cars (2 at a time) up the mountain to see the new suburbs on the top. How friggin cool is that? Did not know such a thing existed. 896' at 70.9 percent grade. Works both up and down. Amazing! Apparently there were 2 more floods and the inclined plane carried people, cars, horses, carts etc to safety and brought supplies etc down as the town rebuilt.
Wow! Looks like an interesting placket!
