Traveled today to Washington Crossing to begin our revolutionary war learning. Absolutely the cutest little town!

Xmas nite 1776 Washington crossed the Delaware river with 2600 troops, 50 horses and 18 canons. Last boat landed at 3 am. They then marched to Trenton and surprised the Hessians. American victory and 900 captured.Washington then recrossed the river, regrouped and planned the next move. On Dec.29 they crossed again for the 2nd battle of Trenton and then Princeton. Both were American victories and just the boost of morale the patriots needed.

Also enjoyed the car show there. Beautiful sunny day but plenty of shade where we were.
