Spent the morning in Philly (Steve was beyond thrilled. Lol) Highly recommend the Museum of the Revolutionary War. Lots of info, great exhibits, helpful staff and kind on the pocketbook. Little background first.

By the 1770's Philadelphia was a city of wide streets and narrow alleys, many were cobblestone. 5000 houses, mostly brick.

1765 stamp act which required all paper goods be stamped(purchased from Britain) was the beginnings of unrest. Colonist felt parliament was too distant to represent them. "No taxation without representation". Parliament appealed stamp act but imposed others. Colonist opposed them also. Americans began to boycott British goods. Daughters of Liberty began producing homespun alternatives to imports.

More tomorrow. Lol
