Did some touring of Marietta today. First pics are at the confluence of the Muskegon and Ohio rivers and we were treated to two towboats pushing barges up the river. Pretty cool. Second one is loaded with coal. Several plaques in the town square gives the history of the town. I'm always grateful for those! The town was founded in 1788 and is named for Marie Antoinette. The W.P. Snyder is a retired steam powered towboat which was built for Carnegie steel and launched in 1918. The other paddle boats are diesel powered and used for river tours. The city floods out often, as recently as a week ago, and the poles mark the highest points the water reached. Ice cream at Whites, dinner with the Elks and my Knights Templar buddy. Life is good!
