Woke to rain this am so we decided to stay one more day to let things dry out. Not fun trying to pack up in rain.

Drove to Alpena on Thunder Bay/Lake Huron to The Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Museum. Not what I was expecting but interesting. More dedicated to preserving and improving conditions for the lakes. Most ship wrecks are left as is because the fresh water preserves them. Some things have been retrieved and displayed. They also are involved in building artificial reefs to help spawning fish and try to restore limestone reefs destroyed by mans industry. Lots of good info on recycling and reusing. So sad what we have done to this planet. Also learned that the Great Lakes contain 21 percent of the worlds fresh groundwater. Good stuff!
