Traveled today to Wolburn Elks- very close to Boston. Nice set up! Into Boston for the trolley tour. Saw the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Park and the carousel operated by Tiffany. During colonial times, barrels of molasses (for rum) were stored in same warehose where large kettles of beans were cooked on saturday(no cooking on sunday). Some molasses got into the beans and the loved the taste, "Boston Baked Beans". USS Constitution "Old Iron Sides" is in the harbor. Saw where Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, the North Church and Quincey Hall "The Cradle of Liberty". Circle of cobblestones was site of Boston Massacre. Teapot is location of East India Tea Co. which is tea that was dumped in the harbor. Saw Paul Revere home and the graveyard where Samuel Adams and John Hancock are buried. The town homes are Beacon Hill. State house dome is 23 carat gold leaf. Very first public school was built here. Small garden with statue is memorial to the 1,000,000 who died during the Irish potatoe famine. Shiny building is federal reserve- first building to use recycl
