Today we visited the Nathan Hale homestead. Pretty impressive place for the 1700's. Nathan went to Yale at age 14 and then became a school teacher. In 1775 he started a school in New London. In 1776 he joined the colonial army and was quickly promoted to captain of an elite group sort of like the Army Rangers. He was then recruited to spy for the patriots and was later caught by the British with incriminating notes about troop movements. He was sentenced to hang at age 21.
