Steve feeling pretty good so we ventured out today to visit Stone Mountain. Interesting cloud formations- I seriously thought we were seeing mountains.

Stone Mountain was super cool. Old grits Mill to see and the mountain itself was awesome-Quartz monzonite dome monadnock. 1686' above sea level, 5 miles circumference. Largest bas relief artwork in the world. 4 different sculptors. Finally finished in 1972. It is a memorial to the confederacy and pictures Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. Over the years there has been lots of KKK as well as NAACP activity and controversy surrounding the monument. As recent as 2020.
