We went on an adventure today to a "karst" area called Dames Cave. Super pretty walk thru the woods, lots of bird activity. My Merlin picked up Carolina Wren, Carolina Chickadee, Cardinal, Tufted Titmouse and Northern Parula. Came upon a school trip with their guide so was able to get some history. Limestone which was laid down by seashells when the area was covered by ocean. Over millennium ground water slowly eroded places which became caves. We did not have proper equipment to go in and explore so only saw the cave entrances. Still pretty cool. Met some folks hacking thru on their horses. Quiet afternoon. Cards in the evening.
